David Kammerer places 11th at the World Championship in Seoul
On September 20, 2025, David Kammerer competed at the Paraclimbing World Championships, once again showing his dedication and fighting spirit. Although in top form, he was unable to find his usual flow this time and finished in 11th place. For David, every competition is a valuable experience and a motivation to train harder and come back even stronger.
Soon, David faces his next big challenge: on October 24, 2025, he will compete at the Paraclimbing World Cup in Laval. After the experiences at the World Championships, David is highly motivated to showcase his skills once again and fight for a top placement.
David Kammerer Celebrates Double Victory at the Italian Championship in Arco
On September 6โ7, 2025, David Kammerer from St. Lorenzen made history: the para-climber not only won the international competition at the newly redesigned Rock Master in Arco, but also claimed his third consecutive Italian Championship title in the AL2 category.
โThe qualification round went really well, and I performed the best. In the final, many of my competitors made mistakes. The route was truly challenging, and I climbed almost to the very top,โ Kammerer said after the competition. With this performance, the 32-year-old once again confirmed his top position in international paraclimbing.
His coach, Katrin Mair, accompanied him in Arco and will also support him at the Paraclimbing World Championships from September 22โ25, 2025, in Seoul. โIโm really looking forward to the World Championships. Itโs another step on the way to my big goal: the 2028 Paralympics in Los Angeles,โ Kammerer emphasized.

On July 9, 2025, David Kammerer reached a significant milestone in his climbing career by completing the challenging route โDr. Bestโ at Holzgauer Wand (Frankenjura), graded 7c+.
With this achievement, he established a new benchmark for the AL2 category in paraclimbing in Italy. โThis route was an enormous challenge. It tested me both technically and physically,โ Kammerer said after the successful ascent. โIt is an important step in pushing the boundaries of paraclimbing further.โ

David Kammerer takes 1st place in the third and final stage of the Italian Cup in Bologna, Italy
On the weekend of June 7 and 8, 2025, David Kammerer (AVS Bruneck) secured the gold victory in the AL2 category at the third and final stage of the Italian Para Climbing Cup at the UP Urban Climbing Hall in Bologna. In a strong field of participants that included a total of 41 athletes from 25 climbing clubs, David showed his class already in the qualifiers. In the finals, he impressed with a clean climb to the top, leaving behind strong competitors such as Michele Maggioni and Dario Accastello.
A national team competition in Bologna followed on Sunday, June 8, in preparation for upcoming international competitions, including the World Cup in Innsbruck on June 23-24, 2025.

On May 21, 2025, David Kammerer competed in the IFSC Paraclimbing World Cup in Salt Lake City, finishing 5th in the AL2 category. David Kammerer wins the second stage of the Italia Cup Paraclimbing 2025 in Milan
On April 27, 2025, David Kammerer secured first place in the second stage of the Italia Cup Paraclimbing 2025 at the Rockspot climbing center in Milan. The AVS Bruneck athlete confirmed his top form with two top ascents in the qualification and a commanding performance in the final. This victory marks his second triumph in this year's national competition series, after he also took first place in Bergamo in March.
With this success, David further extends his lead in the overall standings of the Italia Cup and underlines his ambitions for the upcoming international competitions. His next major appearance is the Paraclimbing World Cup in Salt Lake City on May 20, 2025.
In this year's election for "Dolomites Sportsman of the Year 2024", David Kammerer was voted into an outstanding 11th place with 985 votes and only two votes behind the next place. This makes him one of the most popular and most recognized athletes in South Tyrol - a strong sign of the growing recognition of inclusive sport.

David was born with a proximal femoral defect, a rare malformation of the femur, and therefore wears a prosthesis. Since 2019, he has been passionately dedicated to paraclimbing and has excelled with exceptional performances.
A significant milestone for the sport: Paraclimbing has been officially included in the program of the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. This offers athletes like David the opportunity to showcase his skills on the biggest stage in Paralympic sport.
